Platform Scope
These Terms of Service apply to the entire Tellus platform and all associated services, including:
- Tellus Dashboard - The web-based database management interface
- Tellus API - Endpoints for programmatic access to platform features
- Tellus Mobile Applications - iOS and Android apps (if applicable)
- Tellus Documentation - Comprehensive guides and API documentation
- Tellus Support Services - Customer support channels and resources
- Any future Tellus products or services
These Terms apply regardless of how you access the Tellus platform - whether through the web interface, API, mobile app, or any other means.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Tellus and any of its components, tools, services, dashboards, APIs, documentation, and related offerings (collectively, the "Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. This includes:
- Using the Tellus Dashboard to manage your database connections
- Integrating with the Tellus API for programmatic access
- Reading and implementing our database integration guides
- Using any Tellus branded tools or services
If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use the Tellus Platform or any of its services.
2. License and Permitted Use
Tellus grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Tellus Platform for your own internal business purposes, subject to compliance with these Terms.
Permitted Uses:
- Connect and manage your databases through the Tellus Dashboard
- Query and analyze your database data through the Platform interface
- Use Tellus APIs for programmatic access to your data
- Access and read documentation and integration guides
- Create and manage projects within the Tellus Platform
Prohibited Uses:
- Reproduce, copy, store, or retransmit any Platform content without permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code or algorithms
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purposes or illegal activities
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' data
- Use the Platform to build competing products or services
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Platform to third parties
- Scrape data from the Platform without authorization
- Engage in denial-of-service attacks or other malicious activities
3. User Accounts and Content
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Tellus account credentials and passwords. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
Account Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Immediately notify us of unauthorized account access
- Maintain secure passwords and never share account credentials
- Monitor your account for unauthorized activity
- Comply with all applicable laws in your use of the Platform
You are solely responsible for any content, data, or credentials you input or store in the Tellus Platform, including database credentials, configuration data, and any queries. You warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you provide and that your use does not violate any applicable laws.
4. Database Connection - User Responsibility and Limitation of Liability
⚠️ CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: By connecting your database to Tellus, you do so entirely AT YOUR OWN RISK. You acknowledge and accept full responsibility for:
User Risk Acknowledgment
- Data Security: You are solely responsible for securing your database credentials, access tokens, and authentication keys. Tellus provides guides for best practices, but you must implement and maintain your own security measures.
- Data Loss: Tellus is provided "AS IS" without any warranty regarding data integrity, availability, or protection. ANY DATA LOSS, CORRUPTION, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS is your sole responsibility.
- Database Configuration: You are responsible for properly configuring your database security settings, firewall rules, IP whitelisting, and access controls. Tellus is not responsible for misconfigured databases.
- Backup Responsibility: Tellus does NOT provide automatic backups or data recovery services. You must maintain your own backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Third-Party Services: Database services (Supabase, MongoDB, Firebase, Neon, MySQL) are third-party platforms. Tellus is not responsible for their availability, functionality, or data handling practices.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TELLUS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any loss, damage, or corruption of your data
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your database or credentials
- Any interruption or cessation of service
- Any bugs, errors, or technical issues with the guides or services
- Any third-party database service outages or failures
- Any consequential, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages
- Any financial losses resulting from data loss or service interruption
- Compliance violations or regulatory penalties resulting from misconfigured databases
What You Must Do
- Read all security recommendations provided in our guides carefully
- Implement proper IP whitelisting and firewall rules on your database
- Never expose or share your database credentials or authentication keys
- Use strong, unique passwords for all database users
- Enable all available security features on your database platform
- Maintain regular automated backups of your data
- Test your disaster recovery procedures regularly
- Monitor your database for suspicious activity
- Follow the security best practices outlined in each database guide
5. No Warranty
Tellus and all content, services, and guides are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any representations, warranties, or conditions of any kind, either express or implied. Tellus makes no warranty that:
- The guides will be uninterrupted or error-free
- The guides or their content will meet your requirements
- The guides will be accurate, reliable, or complete
- Any defects will be corrected
- The guides are free of viruses or other harmful components
6. Credential Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your database credentials, API keys, and authentication tokens. You agree to:
- Immediately notify Tellus of any unauthorized access to your credentials
- Rotate credentials regularly
- Never share credentials via email, chat, or unsecured channels
- Revoke credentials immediately if compromised
- Use environment variables or secure vaults for credential storage
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All content on Tellus, including text, graphics, guides, documentation, and code examples, is the property of Tellus or its content suppliers and are protected by international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, copy, store, or retransmit any content without express written permission.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Tellus operates, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction.
9. Changes to Terms
Tellus reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of Tellus after any such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically for any changes.
