01 — Critical Notice
Do not use with production databases
Critical Warning
Tellus is currently in BETA and is NOT ready for production use. The platform is under active development and is intended ONLY for testing and evaluation purposes. Do not connect your production databases to Tellus.
Our platform is in beta, which means the interface, features, and functionality may change significantly without notice. We cannot guarantee the stability or uptime of the platform, and it may experience downtime, errors, or unexpected behavior.
We cannot guarantee the security, reliability, or persistence of data stored in beta systems. Support availability and response times may be limited during this phase, and we offer no Service Level Agreement (SLA).
02 — Risks
Risks of using production data
If you connect your production databases to Tellus, you accept the following risks:
Data Security Risks
- Credential compromise: Credentials stored in beta infrastructure may be compromised.
- Log exposure: Database access logs may contain sensitive information.
- Protocol maturity: Encryption and security protocols are not hardened for production.
- Vulnerabilities: Security vulnerabilities may exist that could expose your data.
Data Loss Risks
- Corruption: System failures could cause data corruption in your production database.
- Accidental modification: Queries accidentally executed could modify or delete production records.
- No backups: No dedicated disaster recovery systems are in place for the beta infrastructure.
Availability Risks
- Downtime: The platform may be unavailable without warning.
- Connection drops: Database connections may be interrupted unexpectedly.
- Instability: Performance may be unstable or unpredictable.
Compliance Risks
- Violations: Using production data in beta systems may violate compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).
- Residency: Data residency requirements may not be met.
- Auditing: Audit trails may not be sufficient for compliance purposes.
03 — Appropriate Use
What Tellus is appropriate for
You may safely use Tellus for testing and development in non-production environments. It is an excellent tool for exploring how Tellus features work with test data, demonstrating capabilities, and providing feedback to help us improve the platform.
If you choose to test with real data, use non-production data only. Create read-only database users specifically for Tellus testing, and avoid connecting databases containing PII, financial data, or health information.
Best Practices During Beta
- Use limited, read-only credentials where possible.
- Monitor audit logs in your database for unexpected access.
- Maintain complete backups separate from Tellus.
- Regularly rotate all database credentials used with Tellus.
04 — Liability
Liability and acceptance of risk
By accessing Tellus Beta, you acknowledge and accept that the platform is in development, is provided "AS IS", and comes with no warranties.
Tellus is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, security breaches, or service interruptions. You use Tellus beta entirely at your own risk and are responsible for all consequences of your data being exposed to the beta platform.
We are working to make Tellus production-ready. A future production release will include hardened security infrastructure, comprehensive encryption, SLAs, automated backups, and compliance certifications. We will announce production readiness on our website and via email to all beta users.
